Iran’s national team at the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence achieved a remarkable success for the country by winning one gold, two silver, and one bronze medal. This achievement was made with the participation of Dr. Amir Najafi, a faculty member of Sharif University of Technology’s Department of Computer Engineering, as the team leader, and Dr. Mahdieh Soleimani, a faculty member of the department, as Chair of Iran’s National Artificial Intelligence Olympiad Committee.
According to the Department of Computer Engineering at Sharif University of Technology, the national team of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the third International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence achieved one of Iran’s most significant accomplishments in this competition by winning one gold, two silver, and one bronze medal. This success was achieved with the participation of Dr. Amir Najafi, a faculty member of Sharif University of Technology’s Department of Computer Engineering, as the team leader, and Dr. Mahdieh Soleimani, a faculty member of the Department of Computer Engineering, as Chair of Iran’s National Artificial Intelligence Olympiad Committee.
Accordingly, the third International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence began on Monday, August 3, in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, and Iran’s national team participated in the competition with four students, under the leadership of Dr. Amir Najafi, a faculty member of Sharif University of Technology’s Department of Computer Engineering.
The members of Iran’s national team in this edition of the Olympiad were Shayan Reza Zadeh, Mohammad Amin Nazmfar, Mohammad Reza Darvishi, and Mani Monjipour. Mohammad Parsa Massah and Amir Mohammad Izadi also accompanied Iran’s team in the competition as scientific observers.At the end of the competition, Shayan Reza Zadeh won a gold medal, securing Iran’s first-ever gold medal at the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence. Mohammad Reza Darvishi and Mohammad Amin Nazmfar also won two silver medals, while Mani Monjipour won a bronze medal.
This achievement comes as the members of Iran’s national team, including all four medalists in this edition, are pursuing their future studies in the field of Computer Engineering at Sharif University of Technology.
Winning Iran’s first gold medal at the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence, alongside two silver and one bronze medal, demonstrates the capacity and talent of the country’s younger generation in the fields of artificial intelligence and computer science.
The President also issued a message congratulating Iran’s national team and the scientific community and people of Iran on the country’s first-ever gold medal at the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence.
