Department name change request

Since its establishment in 1985, the department has been active in various areas of Computer Science and Engineering for more than three decades. However, for historical reasons, its current name only reflects the computer engineering (hardware) part, and does not correctly address various programs offered by the department, such as artificial intelligence, software engineering, algorithms and computation, bioinformatics, computer networks, and secure computing.

As such, the department has submitted a formal request to the university officials to change its name to the “Department of Computer Science and Engineering”. Upon its approval, the department’s name will be changed, and the new name will be reflected in this website.
