Sharifs superiority in ICPC student programming world competition

The team of Sharif University of Technology won the title of West Asia region in the ICPC international student programming competition.

According to the public relations report of Sharif University of Technology, in the 48th ICPC World Championship, which was held from 25 to 30 September in Kazakhstan, the team of Sharif University of Technology succeeded in winning the award of the best team in the West Asia region, and was ranked higher than other universities in this competition. such as Stanford, Cambridge, Cornell, Columbia, Michigan, Illinois and Maryland.

 

In this competition, more than 73,000 students from 3,400 different universities from 101 countries competed, and finally, the top 141 teams made it to the global finals. In the global finals, the first to twelfth teams each managed to solve 7 to 9 problems out of 12 problems of the competition, and the team of Sharif University of Technology also solved 7 problems and only because of the time difference in solving the problems, jointly with several universities. It was ranked 13th among Harvard and Oxford.

 

Sharif University of Technology team members consisting of; Ali Safari, Alireza Keshavarz and Amir Mohammad Shahrezaei, who participated in this competition. Also, Dr. Hamid Zarrabizadeh as the supervisor and coach of the team and Mohammad Mahdi Shokri as the assistant coach accompanied the team.
